M&Ms . . . Sort of thought they were doing okay. The world loves them. They are stocked at pretty much every store -- grocery and convenience store -- and gas station. In addition, they're all over in vending machines.
They seem to be doing well. But apparently either not well enough or greed on the part of parent company MARS. INC. has them repeatedly trying new flavors. The latest we've come across? White chocolate.
This is one of the more successful attempts of different flavors for the candy -- provided you like white chocolate. In fact, you really have to love it because you smell it immediately.
Despite the candy's traditional hard outer shell, the minute the candy is in your mouth, without a bite or lick, you are overwhelmed with white chocolate. So overwhelmed, in fact, that two participating in our test kitchen who only like white chocolate (they don't love it), spat out the candy and said "No thanks."
If you love white chocolate, you'll love the new flavor. If you don't, you'll probably wonder why a candy that's been immensely popular for almost a century (the candy first came out in 1941) in both the plain and peanut variety continues to muck around with the product.
