Lena Dunham

Alleged actress and thinker Lena Dunham got in another self-created mess.

In "Racist Lena Dunham makes up another excuse," Marcia explained:

So Lena Dunham said on her podcast that she wished she had had an abortion.

People rightly complained and she posts 'an explanation,' she was speaking in another voice.

Oh, does she hear voices?

Apparently, she does.

And the voice that speaks loudest to her is Mr. Garrison on SOUTHPARK right after he had gender reassignment surgery:

"Hey, I'm pregnant everybody! Now I can go down to the clinic and have an abortion!" - Mr. Garrison

That's enough, Lena Dunham

  1. Lena Dunham. Saying that you haven't had an abortion but you wish you had so you can somehow "empathize"? Way to make pro-choicers look bad

What's the difference between 'union leaders' and 'union bosses'?

It's a question we pondered this month after the always insipid David Folkenflick appeared on CBS NEWS.

Folkenflick repeatedly referred to "union leader."

That's not what he's supposed to do.

Not per NPR's ethical guidelines.  As NPR's Standards & Practices editor Mark Memmot wrote:

(“Memmos;” Dec. 9, 2016)

Notes

Don’t Call Them ‘Union Bosses’ #

Unless you’re working on the script of an On The Waterfront remake, the phrase “union boss” isn’t how you should refer to the elected leader of an organization representing the interests of workers. The person’s title is good enough.

So Folkenflick should have called Chuck Jones "president of the United Steelworkers Local 1999 union."

Should have . . . but never did.

Maybe it was Folkenflick's December 9th appearance on CBS News that prompted Memmot's December 9th post?

The Ten most disappointing 'left' pundits of the last 8 years

In this morning's snapshot, I wrote:

In one way or another, they all ran from Iraq and acted like the ongoing war didn't exist once Barack was first sworn in.

They're failures.  They failed on one issue after another during the last eight years -- Iraq is only the one that pisses me off the most.
