Touchy feely David Corn loves a 'good' rape 'joke' (Ava and C.I.)

Our old 'friend' and sometime reader David Corn was in the news this month.

We somehow missed it but our readers didn't.

Looking into it, we see that Michael Calderone (POLITICO) reported:

Mother Jones magazine’s editor and chief executive acknowledged on Thursday that they investigated Washington bureau chief David Corn for inappropriate workplace behavior three years ago, warning him about touching female staffers and insensitive descriptions of sexual violence, and would now probe the allegations further in light of two emails written by former staffers in 2014 and 2015 and obtained by POLITICO.
One of the emails, written in 2015 by a former staffer outlining concerns she had heard from other women in the Washington office, said Corn, now 58, made “rape jokes,” “regularly gave [several women] unwelcome shoulder rubs and engaged in uninvited touching of their legs, arms, backs, and waists,” and “made inappropriate comments about women’s sexuality and anatomy.” The other email, from 2014, was by a former female staffer who claimed that Corn “came up behind me and put his hands and arms around my body in a way that felt sexual and domineering.”

Joe Concha (THE HILL) added:

The Mother Jones staffers allege that Corn made “rape jokes" and “regularly gave unwelcome shoulder rubs and engaged in uninvited touching of their legs, arms, backs, and waists."
One email alleges that Corn, who is also an MSNBC analyst, “made inappropriate comments about women’s sexuality and anatomy.”
Another email from a former female staffer, written in 2014, alleged Corn “came up behind me and put his hands and arms around my body in a way that felt sexual and domineering.”

THE ADVOCATE's Victoria Stein provided a video report on Corn.

58-year-old Corn has denied any intent to harass.

He apparently just feels rape 'jokes' are the way to go in the office and he's a touchy-feely kind of guy, he insists, whose stroking is misunderstood.

As we have argued in another piece this edition, men need women to get away with this crap.

At MOTHER JONES, you have Monika Bauerlein (CEO) and Clara Jeffery (editor-in-chief) -- they are the enablers.  We've called them out before.  They're the ones who published a story attacking a rape victim.  They're the ones who refused to correct a factual error by David Corn in 2008.

They're lousy and they're enablers of rape culture.

We're supposed to be thrilled that two women are in charge at MOTHER JONES but all they have to show for it is enabling David Corn and rape culture.
