"Iraq snapshot," "Voices of Honor needs to show some honor" and "Gay Liberation Movement" -- Marcia and C.I. take on an important issue and it's one we address in one of this week's roundtables, FYI.

"Iraq" -- Having filled in for Ruth and Mike, Ann has now started her own site.

Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "The Republican Dream" -- Barack's is some people's dream, some people's nightmare. Isaiah decodes it.

"Iraq snapshot," "Seante Veterans Affairs Committee," "Iraq snapshot," "Sexism leads to silence," "Iraq snapshot," and "US House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee" -- C.I. and Kat report on two Congressional hearings they attended. (Wally and Kat also attended and we hope to have a report here for this edition.)

"Fries in the Kitchen" -- Trina's covering the economy and offers a recipe to help in these troubled times. We'll also have a feature she's worked on with us here today. And she also takes part in a music roundtable here.

"gordo's got more problems," "imf has a message for gordo," "gordo's gone crazy," "another loss for gordon brown" and "gordo: sexist and fool" -- Rebecca's Gordon Brown coverage. Why, an e-mail asked, do we note things like that in highlights, "all of them?" Because we all have our own sites and know how difficult it is to cover things on a daily basis, at the end of the day especially. We are wowed by C.I.'s ability to cover Iraq and do so in so much depth and we've all tried to do that with Iraq at one point or another. But it's just too much work. So when one of us sticks with a theme for several posts, we know how much work it was an want to note it. Rebecca's plan is to continue covering Brown through the summer.

"Worst Drama Queen in the World" and "THIS JUST IN! WORST DRAMA QUEEN IN THE WORLD!" -- Noting we always include two of Wally and Cedric's joint-posts in highlights, C.I. asked, "Could I make a request for a highlight that wouldn't prevent another from being selected?" Yep. And that was C.I.'s request.

"What do you mean 'us,' Missy Comley Beattie?" -- good question, Ruth, very good question. If you helped install Barry O in the White House, don't show up in 2009 and think you can pretend otherwise. It doesn't matter how much you hated Hillary Clinton. There's no excuse for refusing to hold Barry accountable. And there's no way you're going to pose and preen without us hitting you with a pie, Medea-style!


"Lie Face Melissa Harris Lacewell" and "Melissa Harris Lacewell is an idiot" -- Marcia and Stan cover the latest on the faux academic Melissa Harris Lacewell.



"Baack tells Black America to get a White Mommy" -- Stan, "I was upset and I do the title last. I left the 'r' out of Barack. When it was pointed out to me, my attitude was it had been up that way all along so too late to change it." Stan takes on Barack's NAACP speech.

"'Poor' Sharon Smith" and "Gay Liberation Movement" -- C.I. filling in for Elaine was very popular with Third readers for these two posts.


"It's all photo shoots and runways for Barry O!" & "THIS JUST IN! BARRY O'S BUSY SCHEDULE!" -- Barry O is ready for his Britney Spears meltdown, if you haven't noticed.

"'Suceed' at what Debby Jacobs?" -- Stan says he wouldn't have written this one normally. So why did he? "Mike was on vacation. I could picture Mike reading it and writing off this blistering response. But with Mike gone? I felt someone had to step up." And Mike says, "Stan did an incredible job, much better than I could have."


"Mike's back Monday," "Coleen Rowley and 9-11," "Ron Jacobs, Margaret Kimberley," "Katyln Tracy" and "Sonali Kolhatkar forgot the forgotten war" -- Mike was gone? But his site was jumping! That's due to Ann filling in for him.

"I'm praising who?" -- Trina made us laugh with the post (and we agree with her).

"Celibacy in the City" -- Isaiah dipped into the archives to provide another glimpse at this classic (and one of our all time favorites).

"Barbra in a new movie?" -- Stan didn't do a movie post Friday (due to Lie Face) but Thursday Marcia did cover Barbra in movies and music.

"Janet Napolitano" -- Ruth covers the always scary Janet.





"MICHELLE HAS PLANS FOR HEALTH CARE" and "THIS JUST IN! MICHELLE TO RESCUE HEALTH CARE!" -- Cedric and Wally tackle Barry O's point-person on health care.
