Books (Trina, Ava and C.I.)

 

As we did in 2021 and 2023 and 2024, we're attempting to again increase book coverage in the community. This go round, we're talking to Trina about her "Help! My Apartment Has A Dining Room Cookbook: How to Have People Over Without Stressing Out."  Trina, you liked the book.

Trina: I did.  I loved it. Last year, in "Help! My Apartment Has A Kitchen,"  I reviewed Kevin Mills and Nancy Mills book of that name.  We discussed it here in  "Books (Trina, Ava and C.I.)"  and how I hd learned that the two authors -- a son and mother -- had another book entitled HELP! MY APARTMENT HAS A DINING ROOM COOKBOOK. I just loved this book.

Really?

Trina: Yes.  Early on Kevin's talking about how he's married now and explaining their lives as a couple and I was enjoying reading that when I stopped myself and took a breath and said it might not live up to the opening and that was okay.  But it did live up to the opening and it's a great book.

Filled with recipes?

Trina: Yes.  The focus here is more on a dinner, a meal, if you had company over.  They're easy to follow recipes.  

Any improvements from the authors' last book?

Trina: I'd say the illustrations are stronger.  I did get the KINDLE VERSION, by the way, and it was $6.99 so it's available at a great price.

Ellsberg was hailed as a hero when THE NEW YORK TIMES and THE WASHINGTON POST were publishing THE PENTAGON PAPERS.  Barbra Streisand, Paul Newman and others were doing fundraisers for him and his legal team.

You're just a dumb stupid ass.  

That you fool anyone into believing you have a brain is a miracle.

And, one more thing, idiot, Daniel Elssberg didn't run.  He never hid in another coutnry.  That's what Ed Snowden does.  Hides like a scared baby.

And we're not supposed to register that neither Ed nor you ever bothered to release everything.

Daniel Ellsberg truly believed in the public right to know.

Ross William Ulbricht (/ˈʊlbrɪkt/; born March 27, 1984)^[1] is an American who created and operated the darknet market Silk Road from 2011 until his arrest in 2013. Silk Road was an online marketplace that facilitated the trade in narcotics and other illegal products and services. Sales were anonymous, using bitcoin. It operated as a hidden service on the Tor network.^[2][3] Ulbricht ran the site under the pseudonym "Dread Pirate Roberts" after the fictional character from The Princess Bride.

In October 2013, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Ulbricht and took Silk Road offline. In 2015, he was convicted of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, distributing narcotics by means of the internet, conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to traffic fraudulent identity documents, and conspiracy to commit computer hacking.^[4][5] He was sentenced to double life in prison plus 40 years without the possibility of parole. Many decried the sentence as excessive, most notably members of the Libertarian Party and the "Free Ross" movement. Ulbricht's appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 2017 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 were unsuccessful.^[6][7][8] He was released from prison in January 2025, when he received a full and unconditional pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump.^[9
