With her brother David, Goodman has written two bestsellers: The Exception to the Rulers: Exposing Oily Politicians, War Profiteers, and the Media that Love Them and, most recently, Static: Government Liars, Media Cheerleaders, and the People Who Fight Back.
The Puffin/Nation Prize carries a $100,000 cash award and is given annually to an American citizen who has challenged the status quo "through distinctive, courageous, imaginative, socially responsible works of signifcance."
