Some reality -- as opposed to hype -- on Nancy Pelosi

Last week, the corporate media and Democratic front outlets insisted the country loved Nancy Pelosi.  Who but a Republican could object to her?

It's not that easy.

It never is.

Here are some comments, from THE ROOT, that Nancy inspired last week:

  • She meant what she said, which that she “supports the recognition”. Meaning that she supports the idea that Black Lives Matter is a thing that exists. Then she told us that she doesn’t fuck with Black Lives Matter. Nothing else to see here lol.
She showed that she’s the same White liberal fuckface that she was last time she was speaker of the house.
    • What do you expect from someone from San Fransisco, a city that’s managed to excise its Black population (except for its jails?)
I thought it would take a bit longer than this for her to show why I was not interested in her being Speaker once again though. Damn!
    • Why should we be surprised by her response? She is the democratic party establishment and they’ve never showed true respect for black folks - they’ve never taken our interests seriously. The joke continues to be on us. And then there’s the republican party...those MF’ers!!
      • That’s part of the joke! ‘What are you gonna do about it? Vote for Trump and the rest of the Republicans?’
        hah. hah. @#%!
Makes me so angry and agitated. I try to avoid reading about politics. I don’t know why I read this article, tonight. I guess because I don’t like or trust Pelosi, for just this very reason. Gotta go smoke.
      • Also “I support the recognition that black lives matter” is quite different from supporting Black Lives Matter as a movement or specific Org.

          • Sigh. How do you fumble the ball in the end zone?
Because she’s not just a Democrat, which is pitiful enough, she’s an establishment Democrat. They’re about as firm as a wet sponge on basically everything.
Take the first meeting with Trump right before the shutdown, yeah? They wanted it closed doors, no press, and were willing to give him like half of the money he wanted for the office window drapes he calls a “wall.” It was Trump who demanded it have press there, be open, and was too stupid to not accept the haggle. He was the one who fucked himself, not the Democrats.
The establishment Democrats still believe in the fictitious farming family out in rural Nebraska who watches Fox News all day but just wants a reasonable and common sense politician to vote for, which will be the Democrats, so they just got to be as broad as possible for their unicorn conservative voters.
tl;dr: because she’s a Democrat and fumbling everything is just what Democrats do.
              • ...”we really have to redress past grievances in terms of how we addressed the African-American community”
Last I check BLM doesn’t protest on the street for things that happened in the past. Though rooted in past injustice, the problems they are fighting to get acknowledged today are current issues of police brutality and criminal justice reform.
Her response is what I would expect if Trump was asked: “do you support the marches to end violence against women?”
Trump’s (theoritical response): “I support the idea that women shouldn’t be hurt and we need to redress past grievances that women had, also both men and women’s lives matter equally.”
                • “We really have to redress past grievances in terms of how we addressed the African-American community.”
This is really the worst part of the whole thing to me (besides “...rule”).
It kinda implies the community is no longer aggrieved. At a minimum it fails to understand what BLM is about as a movement at a fundamental level.
That ignorance of, to my mind, a pretty basic concept shows that she has been completely ignoring everything going on the last handful of years.
Well, enjoy your fundraiser dinners Nancy, you’re out in two. And good riddance.
