Highlights

This piece is written by Rebecca of Sex and Politics and Screeds and Attitude, Cedric of Cedric's Big Mix, Kat of Kat's Korner, Betty of Thomas Friedman is a Great Man, Mike of Mikey Likes It!, Elaine of Like Maria Said Paz, Ruth of Ruth's Report, Marcia of SICKOFITRADLZ, Stan of Oh Boy It Never Ends, Ann of Ann's Mega Dub. and Wally of The Daily Jot. Unless otherwise noted, we picked all highlights.

"I Hate The War" -- most popular piece with readers of this site.

Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Attitudes of Gratitude" -- the latest, wherein Rahm attemts to impart lessons of gratitude.

"Iraq snapshot," "Fraud and waste," "The arrogance and waste of KBR" and "Commission on Wartime Contracting" -- C.I., Ava, Wally and Kat report on the hearing of the Commission on Wartime Contracting that they attended Monday.

"Song of the Bully Boy" -- Isaiah dips into the archives.

"Sauerkraut and Franks in the Kitchen" & "The economy" -- Trina tackles the economy.

"Deacon Alexander" & "Jill Stein" -- Betty and Mike are voting Green this November and they highlight the Green running for governor in each of their states.

"THIS JUST IN! WHO LACKS PATIENCE?" & "Only a week insists cry baby" -- Wally and Cedric have a lot of fun with their humor posts, they admit, but they feel the need to credit Barack who always makes it so easy.

"books" -- Rebecca explains what she and Marcia will be covering next book post wise and why.

"John Forsythe" & "Friday morning" -- Ruth notes a passing and also scrambles for a post. We've all done it. Hit post and think we're done. But it doesn't post. Usually we notice that. Sometimes we don't. Mike one time got a call from C.I. in the morning because Mike had called her the night before asking to read something for feedback. C.I. wondered if Mike had decided not to post it? Mike went into drafts and found it there and quickly hit "publish." But sometimes, as Ruth discovered on Friday, it's not in drafts. It's just gone. So she quickly scrambled to write a post Friday morning. And she says, "I am so not a morning person. We were in the car and headed to meet up with C.I., Ava, Kat and Wally. I was looking for something to include, something to note. Everything was gone from the night before except the snapshot which is the first thing I paste in. And I typed as quickly as I could only to panic as Rebecca said, 'We're here!' I got a little taste of what C.I. must be up against each morning as she rushes to pull together two pieces before they hit the road."

"Grab bag" -- Kat's Friday grab bag. A post dealing with charity, politics, and celebrity.

"The ridiculous Barbra Boxer"

"Homophobia wasn't enough, Danny's a racist as well" -- Sometimes a person best tells on themselves when they attack others -- and by how.

"Deanna Durbin" -- Stan's Friday movie post.

"Those who attack women" -- Elaine's post was hugely popular with readers of this site. And it's pretty popular with us as well. The one thing preventing it from being most requested may have been that her post "Legislation as an act of rape" was equally popular and also receiving a large number of requests from readers of this site to be included here was Elaine's "Pity the poor failed playwright."

"Drill, Baby, Drill" -- C.I. requested that we note this post by Trina.

"He's a little gassy" & "THIS JUST IN! BARACK'S GAS PROBLEM!" -- Cedric and Wally on Barry's natural gas problem.

"all about bradley (hot, hot, hot)" -- Rebecca pleased many readers with her Bradley Cooper post.

"Francis Fox Piven is a racist and sexist" & "Francy Fox's Piven and the Schecters Who Love 'Em" -- Ruth and Marcia tackle Francy Pantsy.

"When Tom Hayden went to Russia . . ." -- Elaine digs into the memory banks for this archival tale.

"War resisters" & "War resister quiz" -- Betty and Stan cover war resisters and we're planning to expand on Stan's post here next week.
