The Third Estate Sunday Review focuses on politics and culture. We're an online magazine. We don't play nice and we don't kiss butt. In the words of Tuesday Weld: "I do not ever want to be a huge star. Do you think I want a success? I refused "Bonnie and Clyde" because I was nursing at the time but also because deep down I knew that it was going to be a huge success. The same was true of "Bob and Carol and Fred and Sue" or whatever it was called. It reeked of success."
It's really something to watch the parade of endless Anglo White people across corporate media and on YOUTUBE pretending that the election was not impacted by racism and that we need to do this or that -- usually stop supporting minorities -- in order to win.
Democratic 'strategist' (nut job) James Carville spent last week lamenting that, unlike Bill Clinton with his Sister Souljah moment, Democratic Party presidential candidate Kamala Harris hadn't found a Black person to put down and go off on during the campaign.
Over the past couple of years, political and corporate consultant James Carville has been on PBS, MSNBC, CNN, Vox,
and an assortment of other outlets with the same message: Democrats
have gotten “too woke,” “normal people” “don’t like them,” and they need
to “learn how to talk to Middle America.” They have to drop the
“far-left nonsense” and appeal to “everyday” people. It’s a message
Carville, a Simple Country Political Consultant, has spouted for years,
and it frequently leads to viral moments picked up by other outlets,
namely right-wing media, complete with centrist and liberal pundits
nodding along in agreement. It seems so simple, so folksy, so authentic!
It's racism, that's all it is. And all it's ever been. Woke, old man Carville insists, lost the election. Defund The Police, he insisted, lost the election. Who the hell was running on Defund The Police in 2024? That was in the lead up to the 2019 and 2020. Did the old racist's mind finally collapse.
As noted on Roland S. Martin's show Sunday, losers like Jon Tester weren't running on 'woke.' It doesn't fit analysis for this election. But, again as note on Roland S. Martin's show Sunday (see below), it does fit with Carville's private conversations that always preach racism for a campaign and insist that Black people be knocked around by the candidate.
We watched in horror as another media week passed where White people held media conversations with other White people and the token trained to repeat lies while avoiding the growing Black anger over what the White left did.
They will go to any lengths to avoid this topic. THE BITUATION ROOM, for example, brought on a Latina joke who piddled in the litter box, like a well trained house pet. She and the host Francie Pants talked about how Kamala's campaign -- and Democrats -- failed the immigrant community with deportations and no path to citizenship. What a load of garbage. First off, that puts the onus on Kamala and, second off, it pretends that Donald Trump wasn't calling immigrants killers and talking about mass deportations.
Reality: Latinas and especially Latinas voted against their own interest and did so due to racism.
Their racism and hostility towards a Black woman president was more important to them than the very real danger that Donald Trump represented. Instead of addressing that, they embraced racism while lying to themselves that this wouldn't apply to them.
As we've noted repeatedly for months now, a round up of, for example, Latinos to toss immigrants out of this country is not only targeting 'peaceful' Latinos, it's targeting all of them.
People will be pulled in, American citizens who are Latinos. Because when you racially profile, that's what happens. It happens over and over.
Racism fueled the voters and and 'independent' media encouraged it with their attacks on Kamala daily --at THE PROGRESSIVE, at IN THESE TIMES, at DEMOCRACY NOW!, at THE NATION, at THE MAJORITY REPORT, at . . .
But James Carville wants to attack 'woke' and policies proposed before the last election cycle.
Musk set up $1 million sweepstakes for those who signed a petition by American PAC, though he was later sued by misled voters who found out the winners were allegedly not randomly selected. His super PAC backing Trump spent about $200 million in supporting the candidate, a source told the Associated Press. Musk alone is said to have spent more than $130 million bolstering Trump.
US House Rep Seth Moulton used that high, squeaky voice of his last week repeatedly to attack trans people. When people rightly objected to Seth scapegoating trans people, he declared that the criticism of him demonstrated the Democratic Party had lost its common sense.
No, it proved that we call out craven politicians who lie -- the sort of craven people who go there entire adult lives unmarried until they want to run for president and don't want voters to think that they are gay.
Grasp that. He was nearing forty and unmarried and apparently happy -- dare we say "gay" -- over that decision. To see the happy couple today is to see the sort of sparks and chemistry one last encountered when Jodie Foster starred opposite Richard Gere in SOMERSBY.
The quickie marriage didn't result in his winning the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2020 and attacking trans people won't help Democrats win in 2026 or 2028.
The billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO provided the vast majority of
the money to America PAC, which focused on low-propensity and first-time
voters, according to the person, who was not authorized to disclose the
figure publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
America PAC’s work was aided by a March ruling
from the Federal Election Commission that paved the way for super PACs
to coordinate their canvassing efforts with campaigns, allowing the
Trump campaign to rely on the near-unlimited money of the nation’s most
high-profile billionaire to boost turnout in deep-red parts of the
country. That allowed the campaign to spend the money they saved on
everything from national ad campaigns to targeted outreach toward
demographics Democrats once dominated.
Garbage media -- THE NATION, et al that begs for your money to stay afloat -- elected to spend day after day attacking Kamala Harris and depressing turnout. Black women were repeatedly attacked on social media for openly supporting Kamala Harris. But the problem is trans people?
And the week before? We got old man racist Bernie Sanders telling us it was working class people.
You know what connects this nonsense, all of this nonsense?
Racism.
Some of the racists are asking what they can do now? In the face of Black women saying no to free labor, no to showing up at your protests, no to all you nonsense, some have asked: What can we do -- with the "now" implied.
Golly gee, what could you do?
Isn't it kind of obvious?
Get the hell off of TWITTER.
And why do you have to be told that.
TWITTER is the home of racism, sexism and homophobia.
It is owned by Elon Musk who used all three and the money you help him make to destroy Democratic Party chances in the election.
Why is it that, except for Jamie Lee Curtis, this is a conversation taking place only among Black Americans?
White Americans, you shouldn't have to ask others what you can do. You should just be getting off TWITTER. Do THREADS, do BLUESKY, do whatever, but get the hl off of TWITTER.
Can Bernie do that? Can racist Katrina vanden Heuvel? In fact, how dare you purchase a magazine started by abolitionists and then take to a racist platform like TWITTER.
The best thing the Democratic Party can immediately do to save itself is to get off TWITTER. And it doesn't cost them a damn cent to do this and stand against racism, sexism and homophobia.
But note that we have to make like Little Steven begging people not to play Sun City.
At least those perpetuating racism by playing Sun City got paid for their actions. TWITTER's not paying you crap. And you can't walk away?
As we gear up for another week of God only knows what… catch up on #democracyish and the clown car that is the new regime… watch and subscribe: www.youtube.com/live/v1jrUgk...
Danielle walked away. BLUESKY works just as well as TWITTER and it comes without the racism, sexism and homophobia. Also you're not putting money into South African racist Elon Musk's pocket.
I-I-I-I-I-I ain't gonna Tweet on TWITTER? Until you can say that, just accept that we all see you as the racist that you truly are.
Do we ever get tired of making the hard calls? Do we ever. For example? Saturday a YOUTUBE video went up by a content creator who means well but maybe educate yourself?
It was stated that the GOP had won the presidency, the Senate and it looked like House "and if you include the Supreme Court, it's a what -- quadrifecta."
No. Just no.
The US government has three branches of government. The executive branch is headed by the president, the legislative branch is headed by Congress and the judicial branch is headed by the Supreme Court.
There is no quadrifecta -- is that even a word? There is only a trifecta when it comes to the federal government. Three branches, that's how it was set up and that's how it remains. And a YOUTUBE segment hosted by Robert Reich should not make that mistake -- Reich served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
It's not just wrong in terms of the government, it's also wrong linguistically. Yes, a "trifecta" would be three. But there's no such thing as a "quadrifecta." The term is "superfecta."
Now we're furious over the election results and we feel only marginally better about the commentary which has followed. Take Silly and Billy. Cenk Uygur dubbed THE VANGUARD BOYS that -- and they thought us calling them Zac and Cody was bad. Cenk shouldn't have been weighing in to begin with. We'll come back to that.
Actually, it's the same thing. Zac and Gavin were rejecting Cenk's critique (good) and they wanted everyone to know that they were strong on trans issues (good) and that Cenk was upset with them over this. Huh? On that last one, huh?
Revising history, especially recent history, never works with us.
No, Zac and Cody, you're not champions of trans rights. You're not even really defenders of trans rights. We remember when you two were all in for Marianne Williams and she went on Bill Maher's awful podcast. Bill spewed transphobia. Marianne just sat there. She didn't defend trans people.
Does that jog your memories, Zac and Cody?
We remember it. And we remembered what followed.
Genius!
That's what you two said. Marianne showed genius by refusing to take the bait -- by take the bait, you meant she refused to defend trans people. She just ignored the comments and talked about what she wanted to talk about.
This was genius you both insisted.
How much pot do you two slackers smoke? Do you honestly not remember that? Or do you just pray that after you make these videos everyone forgets what you said?
It's the post election phase and everyone acts as though this is new and the participants are being honest -- excuse us, every chattering fool acts as though this is new.
There's nothing new about what's going on.
And this nonsense chatter? It also has nothing to do with what took place.
This is not about the election or what actually took place. This is about a bunch of liars twisting facts and events -- as they always do -- to try to change the Democratic Party.
The first who should see themselves out of this conversation? Those who were candidates at one time or another but never earned a single vote in the electoral college. That not only nullifies the opinions of Ralph Nader and grifter Jill Stein, it also means snake oil saleswoman Marianne Williamson and Cenk as well.
Those four -- and many others -- failed to make a case to the American people but now want to counsel us?
Just sit down. That especially goes for Ralph. At 90 years old, he's the most successful presidential candidate the Green Party has ever had. But that's not saying much, is it? And that was from his 2000 run. He didn't win. But he helped put Bully Boy Bush in the White House -- a move that resulted in the deaths of over one million Iraqis.
Now Ralph can run. Anyone can. We're not saying that they can't.
We are saying that they are responsible for what happens because of their run.
And when you trot out Ralph at COMMON DREAMS or any of the other outlets 24 years later, he damn well also needs to take responsibility for the deaths that resulted him from his half-assed and idiotic run. Amy Goodman and all the other idiots promoted him back in the day. They don't do accountability either.
But 2024 was a very important election and if spoiler Ralph was going to resurface -- and he did -- it was incumbent upon anyone interviewing him or publishing his columns to note that the Iraqi people paid -- and are still paying -- with their lives for his 2000 run.
To do so was dishonest.
And that's what bother us so much about what's followed the election.
Rebecca rightly noted "batterer philippe reines needs to stfu" because the centrist took to MSNBC or CNN to use the election to attack transgender people. That's what cretins do. Sadly, US House Rep Seth Moulton -- someone we though was not stupid enough to do that -- joined that chorus.
Trans people did not cost the election.
What did?
Before we go further, let's explain for any who don't know: We were on the ground. Week after week. We were face to face with voters. We're not reading the summary of some poll and trying to use it to pimp our personal issues.
Kamala Harris ran a strong campaign. It was not flawless.
Early on, we noted that the campaign needed to get position papers up at the website. We were going to focus on the elderly voters because they were being forgotten and overlooked. We noted online and face to face with DNC officials that the elderly wanted things they could read -- not videos they could stream. Guess what?
The campaign didn't address that.
And if we're idiots we'd do nothing. You know, the way DEMOCRACY NOW! and other s**t hole outlets did.
But we're not idiots. So we typed our own papers. And we had them ready when speaking to seniors.
Seniors were the group that, ahead of the convention in August, were the most vulnerable to voting for the RNC. Why? Many people grow more conservative as they grow older. Seniors also make up a huge number of FOX "NEWS" viewers. And the Dems don't do that well with seniors in recent elections.
But seniors aren't knee-jerk. They have life experience and they can be reasoned with.
We spent much more one-on-one time with seniors. (For more on this topic, see Marcia's "Senior voters
.")
You might be a home schooled idiot . . .
if you called your third grade teacher "Mommy."
Seniors have an education. They have the education life has provided and that school has provided.
They also have common sense and that's why they sent their children to schools unlike the crazed idiots today who have children with discipline problems which the parents make worse by pulling them from schools and 'educating' them at home.
Starlet Felicia Day is the best example of the stupidity that home schooling produces. She thinks she's smart enough because of college to weigh in. And she isn't smart enough. Home schooling did not expose her to the world at a time when she needed it. She is grossly inferior to every single one of her peers because she never learned how to interact with others. That's why, for example, she was shocked by pushback when she declared on one of her lousy podcasts that she never watched CAGNEY AND LACEY because it was a show about two lesbians.
CAGNEY AND LACEY was about two women police officers -- one married to a man and the mother of children, the other a woman who dated men (to the point that CBS worried the character was coming off promiscuous -- see Susan Faludi's BACKLASH). These are facts and because Day is such a sheltered idiot, she never grasped that you need to nail down some facts before you weigh in. Instead, the woman was patted on the head as a girl for agreeing with Mommy. No opinions other than ones in her own home was she ever exposed to. Which is also her stupidity today because she was shocked that people would push back at the thought she expressed -- she -- a supposed leftist -- refused to watch CAGNEY AND LACEY because it was about two lesbians.
Not being exposed to peers in her 'home schooling,' the idiot didn't grasp how easy it is to offend someone -- especially when you say something offensive. She knew -- the only thing she did know -- that CAGNEY AND LACEY was a popular show (for the record, neither one of us liked that show) but that's all she knew.
These idiots are harming the country. And it's much worse on the male side. Their anger issues tend to result in their parents pulling the boys out of school. And that's why so many young males today -- adults -- are so damn lonely. They've never learned to make connections.
And they aren't alone in that. Having watched so much nonsense on CNN, MSNBC and YOUTUBE, there are a lot of people who can't make connections.
This is where we pivot to Chris Hayes' MSNBC program.
Chris spoke with Heather McGheeand Michelle Goldberg. On MORNING JOE and various other programs on CNN and MSNBC, you had these all male and majority male panels that told you what went wrong with the election. Their opinions that were usually nothing more than them promoting their own pet issues. Again, these people weren't on the ground and are reading tea leaves and pretending to know something. Black women overwhelmingly voted for Kamala. And we saw very little Black women. Maybe if the host was a Black woman, there was one Black woman present.
But Chris and his two guests weren't about pimping pet issues but about what happened. And one thing that happened is that people are stupid. We're not going to sugar coat that finding up. As Michelle rightly noted, real news is behind a paywall more and more.
Hell, even the trash bag that is THE NATION magazine is a paywall site and, no, those of us whose donations have kept that rag afloat do not give them money so that they can hide behind a pay wall.
As Michelle noted, people are going on YOUTUBE and they're getting told what they want to be told by vile and disgusting young males who are sexist and, honestly, sexist is too mild a term.
And the news sites are behind paywalls.
Home schooling creates idiots, paywalls create idiots. Hell, Twitter creates idiots and we'll come back to that.
That's how you get all these idiots discovering after the election how tariffs work. And, yes, it is funny to laugh at these idiots they keep getting put on camera saying that China will pay the US-imposed tariffs that Donald Trump wants. It's funny to laugh at them. But it's also bitter sweet because the reality is that should have been conveyed ahead of the election.
That's not the only thing that wasn't being conveyed.
Again, we were in 48 states, on the ground, speaking to voters, week after week. And we heard over and over about the little con game 'independent' media was playing. IN THESE TIMES, THE PROGRESSIVE, THE NATION, DEMOCRACY NOW!, etc played a game where they rigged the election. They trashed Kamala Harris every day while advancing Jill Stein. Jill was never going to get the votes. She's a grifter and a liar and voters don't trust her. But she was to be used over and over to bloody Kamala and to tamp down on enthusiasm.
We heard that over and over from Black woman who did not get taken in by these racist attacks from our so-called 'left' media. They will never forget this. That anger was present before the election and it has only increased since.
These women were not invited by media -- corporate or beggar -- to tell their stories during the campaign and, even now, after the campaign, they're still largely blocked out.
Is there a reason for that? If you really want to know what went down, you need to look at what happened.
If the results are true and accurate, we lost because people didn't turn out. Not because Donald got more votes. He didn't, not according to the published results.
So what happened?
People didn't show up if the numbers are accurate -- excuse us, Democratic Party voters didn't show up.
How could that be?
The most obvious answer is what we noted week after week here:
Beggar media suppressed the vote. They glorified a con artist with no chance of winning named Jill Stein. They glorified her and gave her so much attention. This was Jill's third run. Guess what? Per official results, this wasn't her best run. So why the hell was she given so much attention by beggar media?
Everyone knew she couldn't win. She's got an ugly face, an ugly spirit and she's daft.
But left media got behind her and pimped her. They glorified this trash and they did so to attack Kamala.
From August 1st through October 30th, no Jill Stein supporter was on DEMOCRACY NOW! -- do people grasp that? Do they grasp that Naomi Klein saying 'hold your nose and vote for Kamala' is actually not a campaign slogan but an insult.
White girl loves to insult Blacks and maybe the non-White left can make her address that in the future or maybe she can just shut the hell up about American politics since she was born in Canada and her father can never return to the US unless he wants to go to prison. Facts like that, should have presented White girl from sticking her nose into our election to begin with.
But she whored, just like Amy Goodman, just like so many others.
And as they savaged Kamala day after day -- from the 'left' -- they drove down voter enthusiasm.
Voting is not easy in most states. Oregon should be the model for every other state. But in most states, you are going to a polling station, you are standing in line, etc.
For those pressed for time and/or short on funds, you're asking a hell of a lot when you're asking them to vote. And they are leftists and the left media like DEMOCRACY NOW! is trashing Kamala day after day and the best they can offer as an endorsement is 'hold your nose and vote for Kamala,' you're not really encouraged to vote.
There was so much at stake in this election. Yet the left outlets really didn't give a damn with few exceptions (that would include THE NEW REPUBLIC, TAP and RAW STORY).
A huge number of voters did not show up.
We think it was racism and sexism. We think the left media is uncomfortable with any Black woman who doesn't want to play the role of maid or Mammy. We think we saw that over and over with the attacks on Kamala. The coverage she got from THE NATION, et al, was in marked contrast to what Barack Obama received from the same outlets in 2008.
We'd also argue that racism played into the minds of the MAGA supporters.
No one wanted to explore that before the election -- no one in Beggar Media. And now that the election is over, we're seeing White people -- mainly men -- talking about every issue they hate -- issues that had nothing to do with the turn out -- while ignoring the fact that so many Democrats stayed home and did so after three continues months of Beggar Media trashing Kamala non-stop, over and over, every day.
When are we going to have that conversation?
Apparently never. Here's the thing though: Black women noticed this behavior before the election. Even in the silence, even as Katty vanden Heuvel and Amy Goodman try to drop their heads so no one will see them, more and more people are catching on to what went down and how these racists worked to put Trump back in the White House. You can pretend otherwise all you want -- too many people have already caught on to your game and your refusal to come clean only makes you even more racist.
White supremacy won the 2024 election and it do so not just because of crazy MAGA but also because of Beggar Media.
Guess what? THE NATION's already feeling the pushback for the racism that led to their 'coverage' of Kamala Harris. Let's make sure everyone knows. Ava and C.I. wrote what I'm about to cross-post early this morning for THE COMMON ILLS. Let's get the word out so people the true story about Katrina vanden Heuvel and how her racist family made their money.
The
results appear to be in so, being good sports, let's say
congratulations to our next president . . . JD Vance. Yes, Miss Sassy
is the new president. You can't be as grossly overweight as Donald
Trump and as old as he is without the health issue coming in to play and
then there's the senility.
It's very likely we may see him
removed from office due to the senility at which point JD would have the
title of president but, make no mistake, JD is the new president.
Donald didn't do any work the first time. He didn't like briefings. He was lazy when he was four years younger.
So congratulations to JD, our youngest president ever.
Let's
say thank you to two people. Thank you to Joe Biden for stepping
aside. As bad as the results have turned out to be, they would have
been even worse if Joe had been on the ticket. After the debate, the
media was not going to change their narrative. Thank you to Kamala
Harris who ran a strong campaign and did so in a very short manner of
time.
Our sympathies for the nation.
It
would be great if some last minute development exposed voter fraud on
the part of MAGA but that's probably not going to happen.
So we're all screwed.
And let's be clear about who screwed us.
No,
we're not talking about MAGA or other elements of the right wing.
Certainly, FOX "NEWS" lies and they are a danger. But they're actually
far less of a danger then the cheap whores like Glenn Greenwald, Megyn
Kelly, et al.
But again, we're not talking about them.
No, we're putting the blame where it rightly goes: The left media.
Now stop your nonsense if you're a right winger and thinking we mean THE WASHINGTON POST, CNN, THE NEW YORK TIMES, et al.
That's not the left media.
The left media is the beggar media who always asking for a hand out, for a donation, pretending they're serving the left.
We're talking about IN THESE TIMES, we're talking about DEMOCRACY NOW!, THE NATION, THE PROGRESSIVE and oh so many more.
We had the votes to win. Where were they?
The grifter Jill Stein got some.
Cornel West got some. Claudia De la Cruz got some.
If you're unfamiliar with those last two, unlike Jill Stein, they were real candidates.
You didn't hear about them because our supposed left media didn't want you to.
It was Jill wall to wall.
They pimped her like crazy.
No
surprise, she got less votes than she did in 2016. Because she's a con
artist and a grifter. She's opposed to the genocide . . . except for
her stock in Lockheed Martin. The American Friends Service Committee notes:
The world’s largest weapons manufacturer, Lockheed Martin
supplies Israel with F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, which Israel has been
using extensively to bomb Gaza. Israel also uses the company’s C-130
Hercules transport planes to support the ground invasion of Gaza.
Lockheed
Martin manufactures AGM-114 Hellfire missiles for Israel’s Apache
helicopters. One of the main weapon types used in aerial attacks on
Gaza, these missiles have been used extensively in 2023. Some 2,000
Hellfire missiles were delivered to Israel sometime between Oct. 7 and Nov. 14.
Lockheed Martin subsidiary Sikorsky manufactures the CH-53K King Stallion heavy lift helicopter, used to transport Israeli soldiers into and out of Gaza. On Jan. 8, Sikorsky was awarded $18.3 million from U.S. taxpayers' money for continued work on the CH-53K aircraft it has provided to Israel.
On Dec. 28, Lockheed Martin was awarded a $10.5 million contract for continued support for Israel's fleet of F-35 warplanes.
On Dec. 11, the Israeli Air Force used a
Lockheed Martin C-130-J Super Hercules aircraft to drop approximately
seven tons of equipment to Israeli soldiers engaging in ground attacks
in Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip. This was the "first
operational airdrop" that Israel has carried out since the 2006 Lebanon
War.
On Nov. 9, an Israeli missile hit journalists sitting near Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The missile was reportedly
a Lockheed Martin–made Hellfire R9X missile, a version of the Hellfire
that was developed by the CIA for carrying out assassinations. Instead
of exploding, the missile shreds its target using blades, allowing for a
direct hit without collateral damage. The target in this case was not a
military one.
The Israeli military also uses Lockheed Martin’s M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). Used to fire Elbit Systems’ high-precision AccuLAR-122, the weapon was used by Israel for the first time, since the 2006 war in Lebanon, on Oct. 6, according to the Israeli military.
On an Oct. 17 call with investors, Lockheed Martin CEO, Jim Taiclet, “highlighted the Israel and Ukraine conflicts as potential drivers for increased revenue in the coming years.”
Lockheed
Martin is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, and has key production
sites in Denver, Houston, New Orleans, and San Diego. For more
locations, see this map.
For more information on this company (not including these latest developments), see our company profile on the Investigate database.
Stein says she’s against fracking, but Stein has hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in
the oil and gas industry. Did you know that? Did you know that she
actually profits off of the oil and gas industry, that she has had
investments in the Keystone XL pipeline and multiple fracking companies?
Did
you know that she has investments in Raytheon, that she’s had
investments in ExxonMobil? Did you know that she has investments in Home
Depot—one of the most rapacious companies in the world, guilty of horrific deforestation throughout the world?
How is it that the Green Party candidate hasn’t divested her own personal fortune from fossil fuels? It’s sheer hypocrisy. And so is the strategy of running for president every four years but never showing up for battles like this.
Her claims are a slap in the face to the entire fossil fuel divestment movement. It is easier now than ever to
have investments that are fossil free; doing so is a huge plank of the
environmental cause. Hundreds of real activists were arrested this
summer in New York City calling for Citibank to divest as part of the
Summer of Heat campaign. For Stein to ignore all this and still attempt
to call herself an activist is beyond hypocrisy, it is political
malpractice. Shame on you, Dr. Stein! Shame on you for profiting from
fracking and oil drilling.
That some of you voted for that whorish grifter is bad enough but that's not the real damage that was done.
The real damage was in suppressing the vote.
In
2008, when Barack Obama ran for president, the same beggar media did
everything they could to build him up. FAIR embarrassed themselves
after the Hillary Clinton and Barack debate during that year's
Democratic Party primary by slapping one of the moderators for asking
about Barack's friendship with activist/terrorist Bill Ayers. Ayers -- a
nobody, he was arm candy for his wife -- had been underground and, more
to the point, when his friendship with Barack came to light, everyone
rushed to lie that they knew each other because their kids were
friends. No. That was a damn lie. And beggar media knew it was
because, although they can't get real jobs, they can do simple math.
Bill and Bernardine turned themselves in as Jimmy Carter was finishing
his presidency and Ronald Reagan was due to be sworn in. They thought
they'd get a better deal under Carter. Their children were already born
by that time. ( We're not referring to Chesa but even he was born in
1980.) Barack and Michelle's oldest child was born in 1998. No, the
two Ayers boys were not friends and playmates of the Obamas'
daughters.
But that's what the beggar media did -- that and a whole lot more.
For a Black man, that's what they did.
And we saw in July, August, September and October what they'd do for a Black woman -- not a damn thing.
While
running for the nomination, Barack did many things that went against
what he stated he stood for (putting homophobes on stage at campaign
rallies, telling Michael R. Gordon of THE NEW YORK TIMES that any US
troops he might pull out of Iraq he would send back in based on the
security situation, changing his timeline for withdrawal, his advisor
Samantha Power telling the BBC that the promise of a withdrawal really
wasn't a promise, etc). But that didn't result in beggar media
attacking him the way they did Kamala.
Kamala was
attacked from day one. Oh, sure, THE PROGRESSIVE or COMMON DREAMS might
do a puff piece on . . . Tim Walz. But they considered Tim to be one of
their own. Supposedly, that was due to him being a progressive, but
speak to Black women and they were wise to the fact that the real
difference was that these outlets could get behind a White man but not a
Black woman.
Day after day, they could and they did rip her apart.
Naomi
Klein thought she was doing a favor going on DEMOCRACY NOW! and
declaring that you hold your nose to vote for someone like Kamala.
Huh?
That's
how you build enthusiasm? After one guest, in July, was allowed to
praise Kamala and be excited about Kamala running, DEMOCRACY NOW! never
offered that again until October 31st.
People weren't allowed to be excited about Kamala, no, beggar media wouldn't let them be.
Beggar media wanted to hang Gaza around Kamala's neck.
She
wasn't the president. She didn't get to make policy. Most of us knew
she wanted a cease-fire and was the first to call on Joe to move towards
that. Most of us knew what her family -- including her niece --
thought.
But that didn't matter.
It didn't matter that the Supreme Court was at stake. It didn't matter that reproductive rights were at stake.
Nothing mattered but the Palestinians.
Amy GoodWhoreman brought on, the day before the election, the Mayor of Dearborn.
His city, he insisted, had to think about Palestinians first.
We
think a real interview would have required asking this American citizen
exactly where on his list of priorities this country landed? We
further think inviting on that man, mayor of a city of homophobes, also
required asking him: How much is this opposition to Kamala based on her
defense of the LGBTQ+ community?
But we're not supposed
to ask those question. No, we're just supposed to fetishize an entire
population segment despite the fact that this community in question only
stopped voting majority GOP due to the Muslim backlash in the US
following 9/11. That detail was never passed on to readers and viewers
and listeners of beggar media. There are progressive Muslims in
Michigan. There are many more homophobic and conservative Muslims in
Michigan which is why the first city council in the state to have an all
Muslim composition promptly went around destroying LGBTQ+ rights.
But
we didn't get told about that, we only got told about these wonderful
Disney-like animated creatures who woke up signing and smiling and
sniffing the flowers while the birds landed on their shoulders.
How different would reactions have been if the truth had been told?
Again, we didn't get the truth, not from beggar media.
'Ava and C.I.! You just noted THE NATION's piece about Jill!"
We
did and that was published only after the groundswell of Katrina vanden
Heuvel being called out for her racism. In fact, for a few days there,
she shut down all comments to her Twitter feed unless you were
pre-approved -- so much for free speech. We were among the ones leaving
comments about the racism -- we did that a full week before Josh's
piece. We did it when we learned that THE NATION has just published an
editorial opposing Kamala Harris -- by their 'interns.'
We
don't give money to that rag to hear from their 'interns.' Sorry, but
you're learning a trade, you're not in the position to be writing
editorials. And what position you'll have in the future is open to
debate because we're vengeful bitches.
Norman Solomon
knows that. Learned it the hard way this year. That's when the
Democrat who was a pledged delegate for Barack in 2008 announced --
COMMON DREAMS carried the crappy column (others did as well) -- that he
would be voting for Jill Stein.
He later pulled that
back because he learned real quick that those of us who have helped keep
beggar media afloat weren't going to do it for racists.
All
the lip service in the world to the importance of Black women in US
elections. But when a Black woman ran for president, these same outlets
wouldn't take a moment to allow joy over this. Kamala is the first
Black woman to be presidential candidate for one of the major parties.
And, yes, that was historic, and, yes, it did matter to many Black
women.
Katrina and Amy are both racists. Sadly,
they're not equally blamed because few people even know who Katrina is.
Don't worry, Katrina, we plan to increase your public profile. But
they knew Amy and they knew her program and they were shocked by the
garbage she offered day after day.
Again, they all offered it. All of the beggar media offered insults and put downs of Kamala day after day.
When they weren't being racist, they went with sexist.
This
was not our first presidential election to observe and comment on. So
it stood out to us that Barack, Joe, John Kerry, whomever didn't have
columns (plural) every day telling them what they needed to do. And
columns, mind you, written by men.
A reflective left media would have taken several pauses over the three months to ask, "What are we doing? Are we being fair?"
But apparently begging everyone for money takes a huge toll so they don't have time for reflection.
Good news, bums, we plan to help you there, we plan to make sure you have a lot more free time.
By
repeatedly trashing Kamala, by refusing to ever feature the people who
were excited by her, they worked overtime to defeat enthusiasm for the
candidate. Amy Goodman, as we pointed out repeatedly at THIRD, was damn
happy to have a Civil Rights pioneer (who was also the widow of another
Civil Rights pioneer) on DEMOCRACY NOW! over the years. But when this
woman, Myrlie Evers-Williams, endorsed Kamala in September and spoke
of how excited she was by Kamala's campaign, Amy couldn't even note the
news in a headline.
We weren't the only ones commenting
on the racism from leftists. The YOUTUBE program TABITHA SPEAKS did a
great segment on it. And Tabitha noted a Latina who was also dismayed
by the attacks on Kamala and on those who supported Kamala. In fact, if
you were avoiding the White beggars, you'd find many women online
lamenting the way Kamala was being treated. And, as we noted for weeks,
we heard about it pretty much every time we spoke.
Jill
Stein is a con artist. But they could get behind Jill and pretend that
she was an answer and an ally. Which is why they didn't report on
'Butchy' Ware -- her little running mate -- being a transphobe and
calling for restricting abortion.
These very real issues didn't matter.
Well,
Gaza Freaks, we hope you're happy. We hope as the blood continues to
be spilled, that the screams of the dead haunt you. That's their blood
on your hands. Trump and Netanyahu are good buddies. He's made clear
what will happen: A bigger green light for Netanyahu to continue the
slaughter.
We can't work with people we can't trust so lots of luck stopping the Trump genocide.
You've
already, Gaza Freaks, alienated many people who were on your side.
It's only going to get worse for you. Students protesting on campus?
Under Trump. Oh, this is the man who wanted to attack non-violent Black
Lives Matter protesters.
And Hamas? It's a terrorist organization per the United States government.
We
defended the Palestinian people. We never made the mistake that the
Gaza Freaks did in defending Hamas. We point that out for a reason: In
January, Joe Biden is not the president, Donald Trump is. You do get
that, right? You do get that he will probably be exploring what kind of
legal consequences he can impose for those openly supporting a
terrorist organization.
Might be time to start recalculating your speeches and articles and programs.
What will we be doing?
Probably our usual role: Cleaning up the messes of lazy White people.
We're
tempted to walk away. We actually could. We're fortunate in ways that
many other Americans aren't. And we've more than put in our time.
But
instead, we'll probably stick around online a little bit longer.
Probably focus on important issues like climate change, opposing
homophobia, fighting for reproductive rights, fighting for real free
speech (which includes opposing book bans), fighting for reparations and
--
Wait. That last one.
Oh, Katrina
vanden Heuvel. We're back to her. She never made a penny herself but
her grandfather left her a ton of money -- money she went to court over
because she didn't want to pay the estate tax., What a great liberal,
right?
That money she has? Her grandfather made it off
the backs of Black people. Lena Horne, to name but one, was always
clear to us what trash Katrina's grandfather was and how he undercut the
pay of Black artists -- he was an agent working on commission -- to
get better money for club performances from his favored White artists.
Lena would tell us tales in person and in writing.
Katrina, we're going to be circulating those letters to people who might be thinking about donating to your garbage rag.
But
that's not all we'll be doing. We'll spend a lot of time in your state
just to make sure everyone knows that your racist grandfather made
money off the backs of Black artists and that's how you afford your
mansion in Harlem.
Do you get that, Katrina? Do you
get how insulting that is to Black people? The money you have is from
their work and you use it to live in Harlem. Do you get how bad that
looks?
Give us a year or two and see how much worse we make it look as we get the word out on you.
Reparations
should start with people like you. You live a rich life thanks to
racism. And you can move over to the right wing and they'll embrace
you. But do you really think the left's going to embrace you as they
realize what and who you really are?
And don't, as you
did in 2007, send us an e-mail from you or your assistant, offering us a
bribe to shut us up. It didn't work in 2007 when were exposing the
sexism at THE NATION under your leadership -- see "The Nation featured 491 male bylines in 2007 -- how many female ones?"
-- and it won't work now. And probably after we're done with you,
will get to work circulating the #MeToo realities of THE NATION.
Again, we've vengeful bitches.
We're
also smart and informed bitches. And we knew all along that enthusiasm
was needed for Kamala to win and we registered it when so many left and
'left' outlets pissed on Kamala to avoid praising her, who did
hold-your-nose-and-vote-for-her articles and segments. The whole
country will now suffer because of your actions, so we believe it's only
fair that you suffer as well.
We've got a Friday
call, post-election analysis, with other donors you've depended on in
the past. How do you think that's going to go?
What a week. After last week, what else is there to say? One dramatic moment after another.
Like most people, we learned of MAGA tramp Tucker Carlon's demon encounter on Friday. What's leaked out is that crazy Mother Tucker, fired by FOX "NEWS," fired by PBS, fired by CNN, fired by everyone he's ever known, believes he was attacked by a demon -- while his wife was in bed with him. That he was assaulted and left covered with claw marks.
That's interesting all by itself, however, we worked his circle of 'friends,' such as they are to find out more details of this already laughable tale. Turns out, Mother Tucker claims the demon penetrated him and spent weeks afraid the demon had impregnated him. No, we're not joking.
His already outrageous and insane claim just got nuttier the more we learned of it.
Tucker starring in his own version of ROSEMARY'S BABY. Hilarious. Can he discredit himself any more?
He's as nutty as the candidate he promotes, Donald Trump.
The last week of campaigning didn't find the Convicted Felon claiming a demon had impaled his bussy. But he served up about everything else.
He kicked off last week in NYC with his Sunday Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden. Tony Hinchcliffe was only one of many people spewing hate from the stage. Paid whore Jonathan Turley felt Hinchcliffe made "a" bad joke. Which one?
The ones about Jews? The ones about Blacks? The ones about Puerto Ricans?
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested at a rally
in Pennsylvania on Sunday that he “shouldn’t have left” the White House
after his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden, and said he wouldn’t mind if
someone shot reporters at the campaign event.
In a meandering 90-minute rally speech two days before Tuesday’s US
presidential election, Trump attacked the news media at length, at one
point gesturing to TV cameras and saying, “ABC, it’s ABC, fake news,
CBS, ABC, NBC. These are, these are, in my opinion, in my opinion, these
are seriously corrupt people.”
Between those threats? He managed to mime jerking off a microphone and going down on it in Milwaukee. He also managed to threaten violence from the stage, "You've gotta be kidding. Do you want to see me knock the hell out of people backstage?" Warren, Michigan found him unable to say "recession," in Atlanta, George he called Kamala "a twain weck." He's an embarrassment who long ago lost his cognitive skills and just stands in front of smaller crowds speaking about his "beautiful white skin" and his hair and other topics that have nothing to do with our lives and that's why more and more people are walking out of these rallies long before he completes his free association remarks passed off as speeches. In Latrobe, Pennsylvania, he'd already began speaking when he announced he was leaving the stage to comb his hair but he would be right back. While in North Carolina, Trump didn't know he was . . . speaking in North Carolina.
He should have never had any real shot at the White House this year. But, and we won't ever forget this, beggar media -- DEMOCRACY NOW!, THE NATION, IN THESE TIMES, THE PROGRESSIVE, etc -- spent months and months helping Donald and/or helping that other grifter Jill Stein. If you missed it, when THE NATION's owner Katrina vanden Heuvel got called out for her racism two weeks ago, she first shut down comments on her TWITTER feed (only her approved circle of friends could now comment) and then she rushed to Tweet about Kamala and tried to get the magazine on board with Kamala (prior to this, only Joan Walsh and John Nichols were writing positive pieces about Kamala while interns were attacking her daily including in their ridiculous 'editorial' -- we don't give money to THE NATION for them to turn the rag over to interns). Amy Goodman had even more to lose. And when the calling out on her racism began, she rushed to suddenly find guests who were positive about Kamala. For three months she ignored those people but finally found them last Thursday and Friday. She only found them because Americans were outraged. Amy's on TV and radio as well as online. Her image and name are much bigger than Katrina vanden Heufel's but we'll never forget (or forgive) the fact that the two women did everything in their power to re-elect Donald Trump and only stopped that effort when they called out for racism.
There's another reason they did what they did and we hope to address that next week when we're writing about Kamala Harris being elected our next president. That's our hope. If we all do everything we can to get out the vote, she will be our next president.
Right now? Right now we're exhausted. It's been drama, drama, drama. That and hatred is all Donald Trump has to offer. It's a real shame that while most of us were fighting for the future of this country, beggar media was doing everything it could to tear down Kamala and re-elect Donald Trump.
Love is all around. For seven seasons, from fall 1970 to spring 1977, that's how THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW opened each week, with the theme "Love Is All Around." Not all theme songs have lyrics -- then or now.
And we can understand that. For example, what do you write for BREAKNG POINTS? "She's got a brain and he's got the herps, Krystal pairs up with the king of the twerps"? You can hum it and it's accurate -- as accurate as anything Saagar serves up on BREAKING POINTS -- but it wouldn't help pull in an audience.
Last week, the little twerp was offended by that his sexual master Donald Trump was being exposed for a Nazi fetish.
Retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, who served first under Trump as his secretary of homeland security, then as his chief of staff, delivered interviews this week
in which he described his former boss as a fascist as well, offering up
alternate descriptors of “authoritarian” and “dictator,” for the
thesaurus-minded among readers. He also recalled that Trump “commented
more than once that, ‘You know, Hitler did some good things, too,’” a
replay of a 2021 sound bite, and in another interview recalled Trump speaking wistfully of “Hitler’s generals,” resurfacing another old chestnut that made headlines in 2022 and subsequently appears to have vacated the population’s minds.
Kelly recalled asking for clarification that Trump
meant Hitler’s generals, and upon receiving it, Kelly reminded Trump,
“You do know that they tried to kill Hitler three times and almost
pulled it off?” There have been two apparentassassination attempts on Trump in the past three months alone.
Trump's admiration of Hitler is so old-hat that his late ex-wife Ivana Trump revealed in a 1990 Vanity Fair article that Trump kept a collection of Hitler’s speeches, My New Order, in a cabinet beside his bed.
As a coda to two decades covering the post-9/11 conflicts as a correspondent, I wrote a book
in 2021 profiling the 25 Medal of Honor recipients from the nation’s
longest wars. Theirs are stories of never surrendering despite harrowing
odds, of facing death and finding the courage and faith not to be
cowed, of wearing their profound scars -- both physical as well as
mental -- like badges of honor. There is wisdom and warrior fierceness in
those narratives, but also acts of profound tenderness and love. The
common theme running throughout is troops united in a cause greater than
themselves, caught in a brush with eternity and choosing to risk and
even forfeit their own lives to save their brothers in arms. Their
heroism and self-sacrifice is awe-inspiring, and explains why those
privileged to lead them in combat consider these uniformed volunteers
and their teammates America’s “New Greatest Generation.”
Donald Trump cannot fathom any of that.
As
if we needed reminding, the former and possibly future
commander-in-chief continues to prove in the crudest terms imaginable
that he views the U.S. military from a deep well of incomprehension, not
as a sacred trust to be honored by any leader, but rather as an
instrument of self-aggrandizement and brute force. That was the message
behind Trump’s recent description of the Presidential Medal of Freedom,
which he has bestowed on supporters and major campaign donors, as “much
better” than the Medal of Honor, because service members who receive the
nation’s highest military honor have either “been hit so many times by bullets, or they’re dead.”
Militaries always have an irresistible allure to “wannabe dictators,”
to borrow a phrase from Gen. Mark Milley, whom Trump appointed Joint
Chiefs chairman. Trump has made no secret of his yearning to deploy the
active force onto the streets of America to strike fear into his
domestic political opponents, who he chillingly called “the enemy from within”
in a recent Fox interview. He has also repeatedly telegraphed his
intention to use the military to quell a supposed crime wave in
Democratic-led cities, and to conduct the largest deportation in our
nation’s history of immigrants and “radical left thugs” that “live like
vermin” inside the United States and are “poisoning the blood of our country.”
Given Trump's Nazi-esque rhetoric,
it’s not surprising -- yet still extraordinary -- that his former chief of
staff, retired Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, recently confirmed that
Trump repeatedly praised Adolf Hitler’s generals
for their perceived blind loyalty, and wanted U.S. military leaders
more in the mold of the German Wehrmacht under the Nazis. Nor is it
surprising that Milley, now retired, has called his former boss the “most dangerous person to this country” and a “fascist to the core.”
Decades
of covering the U.S. military as a reporter taught me that even retired
generals and admirals are instinctively resistant to engaging in
partisan politics. They have been inculcated from their first days as
cadets or newly minted lieutenants with the principle that the military
must stay above the partisan fray in a democracy and submit to civilian
authority. Their leaders know that the nonpartisan nature of the U.S.
military helps explain why it has long remained the nation’s most
respected institution.
I also know from talking with many of Milley’s contemporaries, both on-the-record and privately, that they share his dire assessment,
and genuinely fear for their country should Trump return to the Oval
Office. That’s why so many of the most notable military and national
security leaders of the past two decades of war have recently broken
with long tradition to publicly warn
that he is manifestly unfit to serve again as commander-in-chief. No
fewer than 741 former high-ranking national security and military
leaders -- including 233 general and flag officers, 15 four-star generals,
and 10 former service secretaries -- recently signed a letter endorsing Kamala Harris for president. They warn that Trump is “too impulsive and ill-informed” to entrust with the world’s most powerful fighting force.
That's disturbing. And when the craven can't deny the disturbing charges, they work to distract.
So Donald's fan boy Saagar last week launched an attack on Gen Kelly and Saagar launched a defense of the Nazis. Trump likes Nazis? Well so what, Saagar insists, "I mean, by the way, I've tried to avoid this discussion but, you know, what's his name -- Kelly brought up like 'Oh, did you mean Bismarck's generals, did you mean the Kaiser's generals, did you mean Hitler's generals?' There is a discussion to be had about who the best generals were between Bismarck, Kaiser and Hitler or whatever. Don't forget Heinz Guderian was never prosecuted by the Nuremberg trials. He was the chief of staff of the Wehrmacht under Hitler."
Saagar's defending a War Criminal. No, he wasn't tried at Nuremberg. That's because the Americans captured him and he ratted out his fellow Nazis so the American government protected him and refused to turn him over to the governments of Poland or Russia -- both of which wanted to try him for War Crimes. There's no excuse for Saagar defending and justifying Guderian. There's no excuse for defending Nazis. That's not open to debate.
Is that what Saagar really wants BREAKING POINTS to be known as? An apologist for Hitler?
There's no excuse for the nonsense. Real stakes are at play in this election.
The economy? Julia Conley (COMMON DREAMS) points out, "Recipients of the prestigious Nobel Prize for economics said in a letter Thursday that Vice President Kamala Harris,
the Democratic presidential nominee, has outlined an economic agenda
that would be 'more sustainable and more equitable' than the policies
proposed by Republican contender Donald Trump." Jake Johnson (COMMON DREAMS) adds, "As Republican nominee Donald Trump advances proposals that would further enrich the wealthiest Americans and profitable corporations, an analysis published Wednesday found that Vice President Kamala Harris' tax policy agenda would on average hike taxes on the nation's top 1% while cutting them for every other income group."
It's a real issue. But the media's not interested in real issues. And besides, as Van Jones rightly pointed out last week on CNN, the media is administering an exam and "He gets to be lawless but she has to be flawless." Trump can and does say any nutty thing he wants, any racist thing he wants, but Kamala's the one they critique and come down on. Donald Trump states he wants to suspend the Constitution? And we get stuck with CNN's Dana Bash pooh-pahhing Kamala's plan for housing -- a plan that Dana never addresses or even summarizes. As Natasha S. Alford (GRIO) explained, "Van Jones' comments about the double standard between what is expected
of Harris and what Trump can get away with connects to a phenomenon
known as 'tightrope bias.'
Tightrope bias is defined as 'a narrow range of acceptable workplace
behavior for women, people of color and other marginalized groups,' which isn't applied to certain men in power."
Even without that very real bias, real issues are hard for the media because real issues require work and there's no one lazier than TV hosts passing themselves off as journalists.
Real issues? Healthcare?
In Clarkston, Georgia, last week, Kamala Harris spoke about healthcare:
THE VICE PRESIDENT: Ours is a fight for the future, and it is a fight for freedom — for
freedom, like the fundamental freedom of a woman to make decisions about
her own body and not have her government tell her what to do.
(Applause.)
And we — we remember how we got here. Donald Trump hand-selected
three members of the United States Supreme Court with the intention that
they would undo the protections of Roe v. Wade, and they did as he
intended. And now, in America, one in three women lives in a state with
a Trump abortion ban.
I don’t need to tell the folks here:
Except for Virginia, in every state in the South, including Georgia,
there is a Trump abortion ban, many with no exceptions even for rape and
incest.
And let me tell you, the idea that someone who survives a crime of a
violation to their body would be told they don’t have the authority to
make a decision about what happens to their body next — that is
immoral. It is immoral. It is immoral. (Applause.)
And everybody here knows, one does not have to abandon their faith or
deeply held beliefs to agree the government should not be telling her
what to do. (Applause.) Not the government. If she chooses, she will
talk with her pastor, her priest, her rabbi, her imam, but not the
government, not some folks up in a state capitol telling her what to do
with her own body.
And notice, Donald Trump still refuses to even acknowledge the pain and the suffering he has caused.
He insists that, quote, “everybody” wanted for Roe v. Wade to be overturned —
AUDIENCE: Booo —
THE VICE PRESIDENT: — which is just a further example of how out of
touch the man is. Everybody wanted this? Women are being denied care
during miscarriages, some only being treated once they develop sepsis.
They didn’t want this.
Couples just trying to grow their family have been cut off in the middle of IVF treatments. They didn’t want this.
Women
have died because of these bans, including a young mother of a
six-year-old son right here in Georgia. Her family is here with us
tonight, and we speak her name: Amber Nicole Thurman. (Applause.)
And
you all have heard me say, look, I do believe Donald Trump to be an
unserious man, and the consequences of him ever being president again
are brutally serious.
These are just some of the consequences of the Trump abortion bans and what he does and what he’s likely to do.
And
I pledge to you, when Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive
freedom nationwide, as president of the United States, I will proudly
sign it into law. (Applause.) Proudly.
If you've missed it, the Gaza Freaks (people who don't really care about the Palestinians) dismiss this issue as "White woman wanting abortions." It's so much more than that and, as is always the case with US healthcare, it's women of color who bear the brunt of ROE V WADE being overturned. And they're the ones being arrested for miscarrying. Those are points the media refuses to recognize -- All Things Media Big and Small -- but they are points that Michelle Obama recognizes.
Kamala Harris
has a plan to expand Medicare to include home care. If Harris is
elected president and signs her plan into law, it will be life-changing
for millions of seniors and people with disabilities. Importantly, it
builds upon President Franklin Roosevelt’s vision for a New Deal for the
American people.
Vice President Harris should get enormous praise
for her groundbreaking proposal. Long-term care is a looming challenge
that’s barely getting discussed. Harris recognizes this challenge and is
offering an important solution: Medicare At Home.
Harris’s
Medicare At Home plan would expand economic security by creating a new
universal benefit, in the grand tradition of President Franklin
Roosevelt and his visionary Secretary of Labor, Frances Perkins.
In
1934, President Roosevelt considered adopting a comprehensive
cradle-to-grave program of economic security. Ultimately, he decided to
start more slowly and incrementally with what became the Social Security
Act of 1935, which, among many other achievements, created Social
Security and unemployment insurance. He recognized that Social Security
was too important to risk failure by beginning too ambitiously.
A
decade later, in 1944, having just been elected for the fourth time, FDR
built on this legacy by calling for an economic bill of rights in his State of the Union address.
This so-called Second Bill of Rights would give every American the
right to comprehensive economic security, including a first–rate
education; guaranteed employment at a living wage – “enough to provide
adequate food and clothing and recreation”; a decent home; “adequate
medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health”; as
well as “adequate protection from the economic fears of old age,
sickness, accident, and unemployment.”
He understood, as Vice
President Harris does, that people want the right, the ability, and the
assistance necessary to age in place, with dignity and independence. In a
capitalist system like ours, where working families are dependent on
wages, economic security requires insurance against the loss of those
wages, which Social Security and Unemployment Insurance provide. That is
necessary, but it is not sufficient. Economic security and a decent and
dignified life also require getting the care you need, including home
care.
Another serious issue is climate. Olivia Rosane (COMMON DREAMS) reports, "Saying that the upcoming U.S. presidential election could be the most
important ever for the future of science, a group of 82 Nobel Prize
winners in medicine, physics, chemistry, and economics signed an open letter endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and warning against allowing former President Donald Trump to return to the Oval Office." Also on climate, Jake Johnson (COMMON DREAMS) notes:
A coalition of leading U.S. environmental groups warned
Thursday that a third-party vote in next month's election could help
usher in climate disaster by improving Republican nominee Donald Trump's
chances of victory, a risk they said the planet can't afford as time
runs out to avert catastrophic warming.
Voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz,
in the November 5 election is imperative because they represent "our
best chance at making more progress over the next four years," 350
Action, the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, Climate Emergency Action, Earthjustice Action, Food and Water Action, Friends of the Earth Action, and other climate groups wrote in an open letter addressed to "potential supporters of Jill Stein or Cornel West."
As we've noted repeatedly in the last weeks, if the Democratic Party thought 'independent' media would help them -- THE NATION, THE PROGRESSIVE, DEMOCRACY NOW!, IN THESE TIMES, etc, etc -- they were sadly mistaken. The racists and Gaza Freaks (and they can be -- and often are -- one and the same) have spent weeks and weeks trashing Kamala. At THE PROGRESSIVE, Joel A. Bowman Sr has an article written for another publication whose subheadline is "The GOP exploits Black Republicans to cover for its own racism."
Indeed. And so does THE PROGRESSIVE. They exploit a Black preacher to cover for their own racism. They trash Kamala constantly. She's on the cover of their latest print magazine. Right now, though? They're hoping it sales as little as every other issue of their rag. Because people picking it up are going to find articles praising her White male running mate Tim Walz but no praise for her. So, yeah, THE PROGRESSIVE is exploiting Black voices to cover for its own racism.
Eman Abdelhadi is a Gaza Freak and a professor. Mainly, she's a stupid person. Deeply, deeply stupid.
IN THESE TIMES elected to publish her stupidity:
Now they want our votes.
They say they have earned them by showing a little more empathy towards those poor Palestinians they happened to kill.
Vice President Harris, we hear your shift in tone.
But …
Your tone will not resurrect the dead.
Your tone will not shelter the living.
Your tone will not pull bombs out of the sky.
Your tone is not enough.
Genocide Joe would still be on the ticket if it were not for this
movement, for all of us. Our movement is one of the main reasons that
you are now the Democratic candidate for President in the most powerful
country on the planet.
You, Vice President Harris, get to run for office because we ousted
your predecessor right here in these streets. But it was never just
about him. It was about the 40,000 Palestinians he helped kill.
So much of the above is garbage. First, professor, you killed them. If you believe the US government killed 40,000 Palestinians -- she gave the speech in August -- then that is on you because you are a US citizen. So grasp that your hands -- by your own argument -- have blood on them. And, unlike Rachel Corrie, you haven't gone to Palestine and put any skin in the game. You're just another mouthy do-nothing.
But we appreciate your speech in that it made clear that there was nothing Kamala could do or say that would ever reach you. Gaza Freaks don't want to help the Palestinian people, they just want to feel morally superior. The deaths are worth it for the Gaza Freaks as long as they get to strike a pose.
Third, you didn't do s**t. What a liar you are.
Abandon Biden and Uncommitted? They did nothing.
That's not why Joe stepped aside. You're a damn liar, a cheap ass liar. And if people believed your lies, that's on them.
You didn't oust Joe Biden -- certainly not in the streets. You didn't do a damn thing. Big money donors did. We denied support for the campaign, we made clear that there would be no more money forthcoming. And we did that because of Joe's debate performance (for most, we did not join the push until Joe sat down for the ABC interview shortly after). It had nothing to do with Gaza.
You're a liar. You pretend to have power that you don't have and use that pretense to mislead others.
Gaza Freaks, .leaders like Eman Abdelhadi are liars. And if you doubt that at this late date, we probably can't persuade you otherwise but let's give it one try. At the end of her lousy speech, she insisted she would be out in the streets every day.
Well, it's weeks and weeks later, and not only has she not protested daily, she hasn't done anything. Truth be told, she never will. And maybe your idiots for listening to a woman who Tweeted on October 7th, "It's a morning of freedom."
You fell for a fake ass.
And that's easy to do these days with so many liars and whores out there.
Call the fluffer -- could that be worked into a theme song for Joe Rogan's podcast show? We wonder because, as a NEWSRADIO co-star pointed out to us recently, if it weren't for Viagra, his wind sock never would have gotten hard for a woman. Watching Joe is sad because he's so fat, ugly and bald. He's like Matt Taibbi but, unlike Matt, Joe did have a cute period -- back in the 90s.
He wasn't any smarter back then but he was happier. Bitter didn't set in until the pounds piled on and the hair fell off. He spent last week making nice with the Convicted Felon.
There wasn't a lie that Donald uttered that Joe didn't fall for. In fact, we're glad the interview didn't take place on COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE because we could just picture it ending in the back seat with Joe getting assaulted by Trump like so many women have.
Instead, Joe just sat there with puppy dogs eyes for Trump and open mouthed, saliva spilling out, as Trump lied and lied again. CNN's Daniel Dale counts 32 lies in the broadcast.
Our favorite lie? It's so difficult to choose. But Trump's lie about visiting Iraq especially stood out because Joe just nodded -- and groped himself? -- along.
Reality, Donald Trump visited Iraq only once during his four years as president. He snuck in the country for a three hour visit. While the visit suffered from time limitations, there was no cap on lies. As BBC NEWS reported in real time:
The president told the [US] soldiers he had secured a 10% wage increase for them, after learning their pay had been stagnant for "more than 10 years".
In fact armed forces personnel have received a pay rise in each of the past 10 years. The increase for 2019, approved by the president in August, will be 2.6%.
Joe Rogan is an uneducated idiot. And that's why we weren't surprised he just nodded along as Donald invented one 'historical' tale after another. But it didn't take an education -- higher or otherwise -- to know Donald was lying when he declared (yet again) that parents were dropping children off at school with one gender and then being shocked at after school pick up to discover the school had performed genital surgery on them. That has never once happened in this country and common sense is all that you needed to possess to grasp Trump was again lying. But Joe Rogan has no common sense.
While Rogan was letting one lie after another pass by, Black women have been noting how the so-called left publications and programs continue to dismiss, attack and degrade Kamala Harris, noting it all along. And last week, it finally surfaced in the corporate media. Van Jones, as noted earlier. And then there was another CNN moment when Charlamagne tha God and Angela Rye spoke with Anderson Cooper, see the TABITHA SPEAKS video below.
What's been talked about for weeks finally hit the corporate media and it did so without the help of DEMOCRACY NOW! or THE NATION -- two outlets owned and run by White women who grew up wealthy and who prefer to see Black women as mammies or maids -- but no one's supposed to notice that about Amy Goodman and Katrina vanden Heuvel.
Love is all around? In better times. In times when the country -- regardless of political party -- could be outraged by Richard Nixon's abuses. These days, it's not just Republicans who struggle to confront a criminal like Donald Trump -- it's also a lot of our left media, even more of our corporate media and Gaza Freaks and Greens.
