I was looking for a quote from a column Marie Cocco wrote in 2008. I wanted to reference it this edition. Marie was one of the outstanding columnists on the left in 2008. Her writing is sorely missed today. Back then, she was part of THE WASHINGTON POST's WRITERS GROUP (syndicated by THE POST). So I knew the quote from Ava and C.I.'s writing back in 2008. When I can't find the column by Googling key words -- THE WASHINGTON POST has removed it from its own site -- I decided to search for Ava and C.I.'s quoting of it in one of their columns.
This led me to be extremely angry. Why?
I came across this:

I UNDERSTAND AND I WISH TO CONTINUE I do not wish to continue
You have to agree you with to continue in order to read "Yes, let's stop kidding ourselves (Ava and C.I.)." This wasn't about a shoddy algorithm. This is about censorship.
When I told them about it, Ava and C.I. said, "What did we say in it?"
They assumed that they'd used language that was deemed inappropriate. They weren't too concerned about it. I am. Sunday, I went over to THE COMMON ILLS and reposted it there.
It immediately got flagged with the same warning and would not display. At THE COMMON ILLS, there's a button you can press to get a review. That button did not display at this site. Rebecca will tell you that it does not display at her site either which is why her post covering an episode of MINX where a notorious movie -- starring Linda Lovelace -- is screened got censored. Due to Rebecca noting the title of that film -- her post was censored and put behind a wall. And she can't appeal it because she doesn't have that button on her dashboard.
So it got flagged at THE COMMON ILLS, I hit the button for review and, eight hours later, they removed the warning from the post. But here? Here it's still behind a warning wall.
GOOGLE needs to stop their attacks on freedom of speech.
