The Whore of Babylon Tweets

Iraqi Yazidis - among the biggest ISIS victims - denied boarding on US-bound flights despite visas. Cleared Iraqi refugees also barred.

Thank you, Jane Arraf.

For those not in the know, Jane made her bones at CNN in the 90s ignoring what Saddam Hussein actually did.

She then became freelance after the Iraq War started and she refused to call out thug and two-time prime minister Nouri al-Maliki.

These days, she refuses to report anything uncomfortable to current prime minister Hayder al-Abadi.

As Eason Jordan would explain it in his infamous NEW YORK TIMES' column, CNN's practice was to bury violence so that they could remain in Iraq.  That's what Jane did.

It's what she does now.

The Islamic State is a terrorist organization.

The Yazidis are a religious group -- controversial due to their worship of the 'archangel' (seen by some as Satan) -- that's backed in the US by neocons.

Victims?

Yes.

Persecuted?

No.

Iraq does persecute religious minorities.

They go after Sunnis, who often are also Christians.

They go after the Sunnis who are Muslim.

They went after the Jews.

They went after the Mandaeans.

"They" is the Iraqi government.

When your country's government goes after you, you qualify as a refugee.

It's confusing for Jane Arraf because all her years covering Iraq have been about hiding government abuse and persecution so that she could remain in the country.
