That sad MSM

If you ever doubt just how ineffective the mainstream media has become in the west, grasp that everyone else is noting.

For example, Iraqi Spring MC and The BRussells Tribunal observed last week,  "It continues to amaze us. Who is only informed by the mainstream media, has usually not heard, not seen or not read about the weekly Friday demonstrations in Iraq. There is however massively demonstrated: against the Mailiki-government, against the occupation and for a free and united Iraq. It really is something as over 10% of the Iraqi population is now participating in the protests and the western media isn't even interested.

Or worse, they're getting the story wrong.

If any other reporter did what Jane Arraf did on Friday, we'd call them a liar.  We'll give her the benefit of the doubt this time and just assume that, speaking so many languages, she's forgotten English.  

That might explain her ridiculous claim on  Al Jazeera: that a Ramadi cleric calling Friday for Turkey to assist the Sunni population is "what the Iraqi government has been saying, that there's a foreign influence and foreign interverntion here."

We'll go slow for Jane and her weak English.  

If (a) a Ramadi cleric asks for Turkey's help on Friday then (b) Turkey hasn't been helping because (c) if Turkey was helping then (d) there would be no need to ask for its assistance.

So, no, Jane Arraf,  the Friday Ramadi sermon was not "what the Iraqi government has been saying."

Again and again, the west fails Iraq and the people of Iraq.
