Highlights

This piece is written by Rebecca of Sex and Politics and Screeds and Attitude, Cedric of Cedric's Big Mix, Kat of Kat's Korner, Betty of Thomas Friedman is a Great Man, Mike of Mikey Likes It!, Elaine of Like Maria Said Paz, Ruth of Ruth's Report, Marcia of SICKOFITRADLZ, Stan of Oh Boy It Never Ends and Wally of The Daily Jot. Unless otherwise noted, we picked all highlights.

"I Hate The War" -- Most requested highlight of the week in e-mails to this site. Ty said even people who've never requested a highlight seemed to show up this week asking that this one be noted.

Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Domestic Arts Czar" and Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Al Distraction" -- Isaiah offers two looks at Domestic Arts Czar Al Distraction.

"Kat's Korner: The art of india.arie" -- Kat reviewed india.arie's latest album, Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics.

"Talking Iraq," "LET'S TALK IRAQ," "Roundtable," "iraq," "Iraq roundtable," "Iraq roundtable," "Roundtable on Iraq," "Roundtable on Iraq," "The broken promise roundtable," "Iraq," "Iraq" and " Iraq roundtable" -- community roundtable on Barry's Big Speech! Best speech evvvuuuuuuuuuuh!!!!! (We are joking on that last sentence.)

Betty's "Stevie Nicks," Rebecca's "folk rock," Marcia's "Aretha Franklin," Trina's "Jefferson Airplane," Ruth's "Laura Nyro," Stan's "Carly Simon," Elaine's "Janis Joplin," Kat's "Sly and the Family Stone" and Mike's "The Doors"; and Betty's "The Doors," Mike's "Sly & the Family Stone," Rebecca's "aretha franklin," Marcia's "Laura Nyro," Trina's "Folk rock," Ruth's "Jefferson Airplane," Stan's "Janis Joplin," Elaine's "Dennis Loo II" and Kat's "Carly Simon" --

The music posts. First set is everyone getting assigned someone to write about and doing so. Second set is the assignments being shuffled around. We think this is a really interesting switch-around. And C.I. asked that when we noted the music posts we also link to Ruth's "Iraq, music, travel" which comes Tuesday night (the day between the two rounds) and notes Rebecca's Monday post.

"Barack gets graded""THIS JUST IN! BARACK'S SCORE CARD!"

"The gimmie gal" & "THIS JUST IN! THE DOG, THE FASHION AND MORE!" -- Cedric and Wally with a humor post. A reader e-mailed a potential topic. Cedric and Wally liked the topic and felt they could play with it but it required linking to NewsMax because "NO ONE" was writing about the topic. As usual, they tested their finished bit out on C.I. who laughed and then Wally mentioned they had to link to NewsMax. "Uh, NewsMax may be covering that topic this week but The Los Angeles Times covered that topic back in January." They did? Great. Cedric and Wally used that link instead. Translation, the claim by the reader (who saw it at a PUMA blog) that NO ONE was covering it wasn't true. It had been covered by the MSM.

"Bully Is . . . turning your back on the world" -- Isaiah's 2005 comic of Condi and Bully Boy headed off into the sunset is the one he dipped into the archives for this week.

"And they want to whine about declines in circulation?" -- one of our favorites by C.I. this week and we all got asked repeatedly, "Really? Newspaper critics used to cover the Broadway openings and had to leave before the play finished its performance to make their deadlines?" Yeah, they really did. Newspapers weren't the nine to five job they are now for so many.
